Bone Deformities In Children
Pediatric orthopedic surgeons specialize in the evaluation and treatment of pediatric bone deformities. Some may resolve spontaneously. Some will require treatment such as bracing or surgery. Some of the types of bone deformities we treat at MOSH include:
- Leg length discrepancy
- Blount’s Disease (severe bowing of the leg)
- Reverse Blount’s Disease (severe knock knees)
- Intoeing and out toeing
- Scoliosis
- Kyphosis
- Rickets (a bone deformity in children that is due to problems with how the body absorbs and uses calcium and vitamin D)
